What is ethical share trading?

Ethical share trading is about making investments that reflect your personal values. In most cases, this means avoiding harmful industries and seeking positive activities to invest in. SIX allows you to make informed ethical decisions about your investments through our ESG research which you can access through our Ethical Filters, Ethical Profiles and ETF Starter Bundles.

How do I start investing?

How does SIX work?

SIX is Australia’s first one-stop-shop for ethical investors. We offer ethical research and guidance from a team of experts to help our customers make decisions that align with their values and we help people participate in shareholder activist campaigns. You can use the SIX platform to manage your own ethical portfolio, and join our shareholder activism campaigns to engage with companies and push them to do better.

How much does SIX cost?

It’s free to sign up to SIX, with brokerage costs applying to any trades you make including buying and selling. A minimum amount of $500 (set by the ASX) is applied to any trades the first time you invest in a stock. This amount does not include fees so your first deposit will need to be a little more than $500. Once you hold shares in a company or ETF, you can buy more without needing to invest the minimum amount but any new shares you buy will be subject to the ASX minimum.

Each trade you make with SIX will have a flat brokerage fee of $9.90 on trades up to $9,000. Brokerage of 0.11% will apply to trades above $9,000.
