Nice short blog post for you and spoiler alert, it’s good news!
We wanted to give you a quick update on our campaign with World Animal Protection that pushed travel agency Webjet to announce they would develop an animal welfare policy.
Last month I met up with World Animal Protection. I wanted to make sure Webjet had continued to engage constructively with them since the announcement. I can now confirm that the work is in train to develop an animal welfare policy together, and World Animal Protection are feeling positive about this collaboration with Webjet.
Because of this, it’s time to wrap up SIX’s involvement in the campaign. We are no longer using shares as part of a shareholder activism campaign. A big thank you to all shareholders for the strength you brought to this campaign.
To any Webjet shareholders, what you do with your shares now, as always, is up to you. You may like to hold them, sell and invest in other companies that align with your values, or sell them and join another shareholder activism campaign (you can always check which campaigns are seeking shareholders in the SIX app).
Rest assured, SIX will keep in touch with World Animal Protection to make sure Webjet continues keeping their promise - as well as looking out for other animal welfare campaigns where SIX can assist with shareholder pressure.
Onwards!
